For this project I decided to bead the state bird of Iowa, the “American Goldfinch” because it is a representation of our home state, and I felt like beading a bird. I thought this was a fun challenge and I’d like to thank you for the opportunity to be a part of this project. I have been beading since my teen years, watching my mom and developing my own style. I like to make beaded items for regalia and I concentrate my work to reflect traditional Meskwaki inspired designs.
